‘A monster fight!’ - Eddie Hearn sets deadline for dream boxing clash before Anthony Joshua faces Daniel Dubois
Eddie Hearn wants to see the dream fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua before AJ takes on Daniel Dubois
Eddie Hearn is eager to see the dream fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua materialize before AJ takes on Daniel Dubois. The promoter has given Fury a deadline of the end of the year to make the fight happen.
Hearn believes that Fury vs. Joshua is the biggest fight in boxing and that it would be a shame if it did not happen. He is confident that both fighters are willing to make the fight happen, but he admits that it will be difficult to agree on a deal.
Hearn said: "I think it's the biggest fight in boxing. It's the only fight that really excites me. I think it's a fight that will do huge numbers. I think it's a fight that will capture the imagination of the world.
I think both guys want the fight. I think both guys are willing to make the fight. But it's a very, very difficult fight to make. There's a lot of moving parts. There's a lot of different agendas. There's a lot of different egos. But I think it's a fight that we should all be trying to make. I think it's a fight that the fans deserve to see."
If Fury vs. Joshua does not happen, Hearn says that he would like to see AJ fight Dubois next. He believes that Dubois is a rising star in the heavyweight division and that he would be a good test for AJ.
Hearn said: "If the Tyson Fury fight doesn't happen, then I would like to see Anthony Joshua fight Daniel Dubois. I think Daniel Dubois is a fantastic young fighter. I think he's got a huge future. I think he's got all the attributes to be a world heavyweight champion.
I think he's a big puncher. He's got a good engine. He's got a good chin. He's got a good boxing brain. I think he's got all the attributes to be a top heavyweight. So I would like to see that fight next."
